Mentorship is a crucial part of the programme, supporting Ambassadors in planning their leadership development pathway and navigating the range of opportunities and engagements in Bristol and beyond, enabling them to work towards their personal and professional development objectives and delivering against the core mission of the programme.
If you are interested in supporting Ambassadors in their professional and personal growth, applications are now open for leadership mentors for Year Two Ambassadors!
We particularly welcome interest from individuals who have strong knowledge and understanding of the opportunities and challenges that are faced by developing leaders from a Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic background and/or have lived experience of developing their own leadership journey within the environmental sector as an individual from similar backgrounds.
Find out more about the mentorship programme in this brochure and fill out this online form to apply.

The issues around sustainability are often discussed in complex jargon, detached them from real lives. And the sector is nowhere near as open and welcoming as it likes to think. As a mentor I try to share my understanding, connections and professional experience to help to demystify issues, validate insights and explore ways to create and make the most of opportunities. In return I get the challenge of a fresh perspective on issues I care about and the joy of seeing someone strengthen their sense of their own agency and think through how best to realise their huge potential for positive influence.Simon Roberts, Chief Executive of Centre for Sustainable Energy
I’ve lived and worked in Bristol for nine years and have been actively involved in the environmental movement during that time. Being a Black and Green Ambassador Mentor is one of the ways I’m supporting a more diverse and inclusive space for activists and environmentalists of colour in our city. It’s a fantastic initiative and it’s great to be able to centre the voices and campaigns of the Ambassadors – they’re an inspiration!
