Ruth Nortey‘s community-based research project will explore the connections to green spaces for parents with young children, with a focus on disabled parents and people living with long term health conditions.

Green Spaces & Me is a project exploring the connection that Disabled parents (including people living with long term health conditions) with young children from Bristol’s Black and Brown communities have to green spaces.

As a Black, Disabled parent, I’m interested in finding out how people like me, connect to the green spaces around them and beyond. For me, being able to access green spaces from the Bristol to Bath cycle path to Leigh Woods to community gardens, has helped me to have a break from daily life and reconnect with myself and the world around me.

Through conversations with local people, I hope to record a series of podcasts, sharing stories of how people connect with green spaces.

As a thank you, all participants will receive a £10 gift voucher.
